DIY Wax Seal Pendants and Charms

Using Wax Seal Stamps Create Wax Seal Jewelry

Did you know that can use a regular wax seal stamp to create beautiful jewelry and charms?  It's pretty easy and your pendant will be a unique masterpiece. This can be done by using a special metal clay. Metal clay is white and easy to mold. You can easily pick some up at your local craft store or online. You will need access to a kiln for this project as you will need to heat up the clay at 1650 degree Fahrenheit for 2 hours.

Things You'll Need

  • Soap
  • Water
  • Lint-Free Cloth
  • Silver Metal Clay
  • Wax Seal Stamp
  • Wax Paper
  • Small Coffee Straw
  • Kiln
  • Heat Resistant Tile

Prep Your Space!

Start off with prepping your work area by placing down a piece of wax paper. This also will help with easy removal of the clay when you're done.

Clean Hands For Clean Art

Avoid getting small debris or lint in your masterpiece. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Dry hands with a lint-free cloth.

Molding The Clay

Take a bit of the silver metal clay and roll out a one inch ball. Place the ball on the wax paper and gently press the ball into a circle, approximately 3/8 inch thick.

Now use your wax seal stamp to stamp in your design! Take the wax seal stamp with the design of your choosing. Center the wax seal stamp stamp over the clay and press into it. Don't press all the way. Pressing on it too lightly will barely leave an impression and pressing too hard will create a fragile charm prone to breakage. Only press a quarter of an inch deep.

Remove the wax stamp and check your design. If you aren't happy you can roll up the clay and start again.

Now we need to make the hole to hold the jewelry piece. Take a small coffee straw and center it above the wax seal impression. Press the end of the straw all the way through the clay to punch out the hole. Remove the straw. Allow the clay to lay flat for 24 hours to dry.

Time To Heat Things Up

Once the clay has dried take the pendant and place it on a heat resistant tile. Take the title and place it on the bottom of the kiln.

Set the kiln to 1650 degrees Fahrenheit. Heat for 2 hours. Allow the kiln to cool completely before removing.

The Finishing Touches

Your pendant is almost done. Just add the ring thru the hole of the pendant and you're ready use it however you like. You can add them to your charm bracelet or use it for a necklace. They make beautiful pieces and make wonderful, unique and personal gifts for families and friends.

Using Wax Seal Stamps to Create Chocolate Art

Wax Seal Stamps s Chocolate Stamps Create Chocolate Art

When dessert is just as beautiful as it is tasty, it tends to make you crave it more. We see Chocolatiers around the world create beautiful works of art with chocolate from scratch. But did you know you can make your own chocolate accents at home with just one simple Chocolate Stamping tool?

Not Just For Wax Seals

We know people love using wax seals to package their products. It adds a unique signature and makes a wonderful presentation. Well you can also do the same for desserts. Chocolate wax seals are easy to make and  can turn a simple cupcake into an extraordinary one. Here is how you can take a chocolate stamp and create your own chocolate seals for decoration.

What You'll Need:

  • Chocolate (chips for easy melting)
  • Double boiler or microwave
  • Clean bowl
  • Wax seal stamp with the design of choice
  • Piping bag
  • Cup of ice
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Towel

Creating a Chocolate Wax Seal

Heat up the chocolate. You can do this by using a double boiler or a microwave. When using a microwave, heat the chocolate in a microwave safe for 30 seconds. Remove bowl and stir. Place the bowl back in the microwave and continue to heat at 30 second intervals, stirring between each, until chocolate is completely melted. Be careful not to overheat.

Let the chocolate stand for 3-5 minutes. The chocolate should be slightly warm. If the chocolate is too hot, the impression will smear when you try to stamp it.

While you wait for the chocolate to cool a bit, place your wax stamp in the cup of ice. It is important that the bottom of the wax stamp is thoroughly chilled. This will prevent the chocolate from sticking to the stamp.

Line your baking sheet with parchment paper and pour the chocolate into a piping bag. Squeeze dime size amounts of chocolate on to the parchment paper.

Remove your stamp from the ice and quickly wipe dry with a towel. Place the stamp gently in the mound of chocolate.Let it stand for just a few seconds (no more than 5). Press down again very gently but firmly once more before lifting the stamp.

Voila! You should be left with a clear impression of the stamp design in chocolate. Chill the stamp in ice between each batch of the remaining chocolate. Refrigerate the seals until ready for use!

Any Wax Seal Stamp can be used for chocolate-just do remember to keep the design fairly basic and not too intricate. Texts can be done but must be fairly thick and not using much text. Chocolate does not take details quite as well as wax.
